Linda Erickson bought her first Norrbottenspets in 2001. Her first litter was born in 2004; this made her the first breeder of Norrbottenspets in the U.S. The Norrbottens quickly became Linda's life as she worked to promote and protect the wonderful breed. She worked with breeders in Canada and Scandinavian countries to import breeding dogs into the U.S. She was also a member of the Canadian Norrbottenspets Club and a founding member of American Norrbottenspets Association. She was one of the driving forces to get the Norrbottenspets recognized by American Kennel Club. On January 1, 2010, the Norrbottenspets was accepted into AKC's Foundation Stock Service. This was the first step to getting the Norrbottenspets fully recognized in the U.S. In January 2012, tragedy struck the Norrbottenspets community when Linda Erickson passed away suddenly from cancer. Her memory will live on forever in the work that she has contributed to the preservation of the breed.

Dear sweet Susie. We miss you so much. You were our guardian angel, always looking over the Norrbottenspets, wondering why they were so interested in those squirrels and skunks. Dogs are suppose to herd sheep and fish, not chase squirrels! Susie could untie our shoes while running backwards with the finesse of a magician. She also loved riding in the back of the pickup, running back and forth as far as the ties would allow. For every mile we traveled, she covered at least four. Nothing though was more to her liking than the vacations we took up in the Sister's Wilderness area, horseback riding on the Pacific Crest Trail. Susie, we will miss those times with you. Please find peace in your new home. You will forever be remembered and loved.
Borr was the King of the kennel, ruler of the roost. He was polite and quiet and always the gentleman. Borr was our first male and will always be first in our eyes. The Norrbottenspets' breed should be proud to be able to call Borr, one of its own. Borr will always be missed.
